Jack’s house was ideal for two main reasons: there was plenty of space, and his parents were exceptionally easy-going. Jack woke up to the tinny buzzing of an alarm in an unfamiliar room. He pushed himself up into a sitting position, seeing the man whose bed he was in getting dressed.
“I have work,” he said, glancing at Jack as he buttoned up his shirt, “and I’m guessing that you do too. If you’re hungry, you can help yourself to whatever I may have.” He tucked in his shirt. “Otherwise, just let yourself out. Ianto was stretched out on Jack’s bed, his maths textbook open in front of him. Jack was next to him, trying – mostly successfully – to distract him. It didn’t help that even without Jack’s added efforts, Ianto was oddly aware of how close Jack was to him.
